There are two front doors and they do different jobs. Learn the difference once and you'll never be confused by a bookmark again.
login.chartvoyant.com is where you sign in. It only ever shows the sign-in card.
chartvoyant.com is the EMR. Arrive there signed in and you get straight to work; arrive without a session and you'll see a brief Taking you to sign-in… and get sent to the login address. If you're not sure which one you have bookmarked, bookmark the login address — it always works.
Signing in
Open login.chartvoyant.com. The card says Sign in with the line Sign in with your username and password.
Fill in Username and Password and press Log in. There is no separate "email" field — your username is whatever your administrator created, which is usually something like
a.rivera, not an email address.Screenshot pending capture
If your account has two-factor enabled, the whole card is replaced by Two-factor verification and the prompt Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app.
Type the six digits from your authenticator and press Verify. Codes roll every 30 seconds — if one is rejected, wait for the next code rather than retyping the same one. Back to sign-in returns you to the start if you grabbed the wrong account's code.

Next you'll see Choose your facility. Pick the location you are physically working at today and press Continue.
If your practice has one location, ChartVoyant skips this and enters directly. You'll be asked again on your next fresh sign-in, but not on a page refresh.

The Practice ID field
Most people never see it. It appears in two situations:
- Your username is used at more than one practice. You'll get the error This username is used at more than one practice — enter your Practice ID to continue. and the field will appear. Enter the ID your office gave you.
- You have signed in successfully on this device before with a Practice ID, so it's remembered and pre-filled.
On a first sign-in with a username that's unique across all practices, the field stays hidden. That's expected — don't go hunting for it.
When the session ends
Two ways out. Log out in the top right ends it deliberately. The other way is quieter: in secure mode your session is time-limited, and a tab left idle simply stops renewing itself. When that happens the app returns to Sign in with no explanation and no countdown.
Your administrator sets how long a session lasts in Admin → Security under Session timeout, with choices from 15 minutes to 12 hours. If your practice picked 15 minutes, that is a deliberate decision about the risk of an unattended screen at a public desk, not an oversight.
What usually goes wrong
Typing an email address into Username. It's a username. If you don't know it, your administrator can see it in Admin → Users.
Reusing a two-factor code. Each code works once. A rejected code almost always means it had already been used or had just rolled over.
Bookmarking the apex instead of the login page. Harmless — you'll be redirected — but it adds a hop, and if you're offline it looks like the site is broken.
Sharing a login. Every action is recorded against the account that did it, so a shared login means the audit trail names the wrong person. It also means a departing employee's password is still in the building. Ask for your own account.
